THE FIRST VISIT

I FEEL AS IF I'M ABANDONING MY PET WHEN I GO ON  VACATION. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Sometimes, though we may be eagerly anticipating a vacation, thoughts of leaving our pet can cause us to feel very guilty. But, at Long Last Kennels, you can be confident that your pet will receive love and affection, exercise and play and enjoy a vacation of their very own. Remember that pets have no sense of time and do not sit counting the days until you return. Most pets who are friendly will respond well to boarding if they get lots of hugs, kisses and playtime.

MY PET IS MY BABY. HE'S GOING TO MISS ME SO BADLY. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP THIS?

Most owners suffer more anxiety than pets ever do.

It may help your pet and you to take advantage of our "day visits" at the kennel.  This will help a lot if he is nervous of new people or new situations and has never boarded anywhere before.  These visits also help if your pet is older and has never boarded before.  "Day visits" can be done by dropping your pet off in the morning and picking them up before we close. They can also be left overnight.   Our "day visits" are complimentary since we want your pet and you to adjust quickly and happily to boarding.  However dogs must be up to date on all shots just the same as for boarding.  All hugs, kisses and reassurances are definitely free of charge!

For the first visit, it's a good idea to plan on dropping him off in the morning hours. That way, your dog has all day to run, play, get an idea of the routine and settle in more comfortably.
